CAP60 and WellSky® Partner to Build Data Bridge to Empower Community Action Agencies and Increase Efficient Data Entry
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — April 29, 2021— CAP60, the leading provider of data management solutions for Community Action Agencies (CAAs) and WellSky, the leader in Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) solutions, have partnered to create a data bridge between their technology platforms. With this bridge, agencies that use both systems can now avoid double data entry and more efficiently comply with Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) reporting requirements and mandates from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
“Providing low-income communities with the best technology is at the heart of CAP60’s mission,” said Hamid Kohan, president of CAP60. “Ever-changing funder requirements in the nonprofit sector can be exceedingly challenging for community change makers, like Community Action Agencies, to maintain compliance. We are proud to offer solutions to overcome such challenges, break institutionalized silos, and truly offer ‘no wrong door’ approaches to whole-family care.”
CAAs leverage CSBG funding to alleviate poverty in their communities through initiatives such as employment assistance and Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Programs (LIHEAP). CAP60 specializes in helping CAAs meet CSBG reporting requirements, including those mandated by ROMA Next Gen for continuous quality improvement.
At the same time, CAAs often receive HUD funding for their housing programs, which requires them to enter data in the HMIS administered by their local HUD Continuum of Care. This creates an undue administrative burden on already under-resourced teams.
Recognizing this client pain point, CAP60 and WellSky developed an easy way for CAAs to meet their HMIS and CSBG data requirements. CAA staff can enter required data into their HMIS and easily export the common data elements in a format ready to be imported directly into CAP60.
“WellSky envisions an increasingly interconnected and interoperable future for health and community care and partnering with CAP60 brings us closer to that reality,” said Steve Greenberg, senior vice president of WellSky’s human and social services division. “This important partnership helps our clients deliver intelligent, efficient, and compassionate care to even more people in need as we work together to uplift our communities.”
CAAs and other organizations that are focused on poverty, homelessness, and other social risks make a tremendous impact on their communities. CAP60 and WellSky are dedicated to making their jobs easier, allowing them to do more for their communities, tell their stories to their stakeholders, and remain compliant with their funding sources.
