Arif Lakhani

Board Member

Arif Lakhani is a senior vice president with GIC’s Direct Investments Group, where he leads the team’s TMT investment activities across North America. Previously, Arif spent nine years at Silver Lake, where he focused on growth equity and private equity investments across the technology sector. He also formerly worked at Softbank Investment Advisors as an investment director and started his career at Morgan Stanley in the firm’s technology investment banking division. Arif graduated from Harvard College with a B.A. in economics.

Art Heidrich

Art Heidrich is based in San Francisco, where he helps lead and support TPG’s investment activities in software and enterprise technology. Art currently serves on the boards of Boomi, ClaimsXten, Digital.ai, Sauce Labs, and WellSky, and has been involved with investments in Advent Software, C3 AI, Checkmarx, Eze Software, IMS Health, Sonatype, SunGard Data Systems, Vertafore, and Wind River. Prior to joining TPG in 2011, Art worked in the technology investment banking group at Morgan Stanley, where he advised on and executed M&A and corporate finance transactions. He received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and a BA in economics from Stanford University.

Nehal Raj

Board Member

Nehal Raj is a Partner of TPG. He heads the firm’s Technology Group and leads the firm’s investment activities in the technology sector across its private equity platforms (TPG Capital, TPG Growth, and The Rise Fund). Prior to joining TPG in 2006, Nehal was an investor at Francisco Partners, a private equity firm focused on the technology industry, where he was involved with the firm’s investment in OfficeTiger (acquired by RR Donnelley). Previously, Nehal worked in the Mergers, Acquisitions, and Restructurings Department of Morgan Stanley, where he specialized in advising technology companies. Nehal is currently a director of C3 IoT, Domo, EverFi, WellSky, Noodle Analytics (Chairman), Sutherland Global Services, Wind River Systems (Chairman), and Zscaler. He previously was a director of Aptina Imaging (acquired by ON Semiconductor), CCC Information Services (acquired by Advent International), Decision Insight Information Group (acquired by CoreLogic), IMS Health (NYSE: IMS), Intergraph (acquired by Hexagon AB), and Symbility Solutions (TSX-V: SY). Nehal also serves on the Board of Trustees of San Francisco Day School and on the Advisory Board of Breakthrough San Francisco. In the past, he has also been recognized as one of GrowthCap’s Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors. Nehal received an M.B.A. with High Distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar. He also received an A.B. with Distinction in economics and an M.S. in industrial engineering & engineering management from Stanford University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

Bill Miller is the CEO of WellSky and a recognized leader in the healthcare industry. With 25 years of experience in bringing groundbreaking growth strategies and technological innovation to the healthcare marketplace, Bill has a proven track record of launching and leading highly successful healthcare IT companies. Under Bill’s leadership, WellSky has experienced unprecedented growth and has claimed a transformative position as the leading innovator of intelligent, coordinated care. Prior to joining WellSky in July 2017, Bill served as the CEO of OptumInsight, a division of Optum, which is the health services platform of UnitedHealth Group. Under Bill’s leadership, OptumInsight experienced unparalleled revenue growth and expanded margins. He led the evolution of Optum into the leader in health care analytics and launched several tech-enabled business platforms. Prior to OptumInsight, Bill served as senior vice president of technologies at Cerner Corporation, where he had global responsibility for the company’s managed services, outsourcing, and technology services business units. A graduate of the University of Kansas, Bill earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in urban planning and public policy.

Jeffrey Rhodes

Jeffrey Rhodes is a Partner of TPG in the San Francisco office, where he co-leads the healthcare group and the firm's investment activities in the healthcare services, pharmaceutical, and medical device sectors. Jeff serves on the boards of Beaver-Visitec International, Immucor, Kindred at Home, Kindred Healthcare, and WellSky. He previously served on the Boards of Biomet, EnvisionRx, IMS Health, Par Pharmaceutical Companies, Surgical Care Affiliates, Zimmer Biomet, and as a founding Board member of the Healthcare Private Equity Association. Prior to joining TPG in 2005, he worked at McKinsey & Company and Article27 LTD, a start-up software company. Jeff received his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar. He earned his B.A., Summa Cum Laude, in economics from Williams College.

Jeff Suer

Jeff Suer joined LGP as an Associate in 2013. Previously, Jeff worked in private equity at Apollo Global Management in its Los Angeles office from 2009 to 2011 and in the Mergers & Acquisitions group of Morgan Stanley in its Los Angeles office from 2007 to 2009. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics/Economics, and he earned an M.B.A. with distinction from Harvard Business School. 

Chris Hester

Chris Hester founded Kinnser Software in 2003. Over his 13 years as CEO, the business grew to be the leading provider of software for home health and hospice. In 2017, Kinnser Software merged with WellSky, the leader in post-acute & community software solutions. In addition to serving on the board of WellSky, Chris currently serves on the boards of Precision Lending, Bypass Mobile, and Veriforce.

 

William M. Altman

William M. Altman, J.D., M.A. serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer, and Chief of Staff to the CEO for Kindred Healthcare, Inc., a diversified provider of post-acute care. He also oversees Kindred’s federal and state policy initiatives. William serves as executive vice president, chief strategy officer, and chief of staff to the CEO for Kindred Healthcare, Inc., a diversified provider of post-acute care. He also oversees Kindred’s federal and state policy initiatives. William serves on Kindred’s Executive Committee and has spear-headed development of the company’s enterprise strategy to position the company for hospital partnerships and value-based payment. His career has focused on navigating the intersection between strategy, operations, and public policy, with special emphasis on post-acute care, partnerships between acute and post-acute providers, and improving quality for an aging population. He has developed an expertise in payment and delivery systems across the full post-acute spectrum, including long-term acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehab, skilled nursing, home care, and hospice/end of life care. During his 22-year tenure at Kindred, William has also advised the Board and overseen development of the company’s compliance, risk management, and Sarbanes-Oxley programs. Prior to joining Kindred, William served in a variety of capacities in the public and private sectors in the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, health care consulting, and law firms specializing in healthcare issues. William has been actively involved in health care policy. He has served on the Boards of several provider associations, testified before Congress, and helped design through legislation and regulation payment and quality regulation systems. He is past president of the Acute Long Term Hospital Association (ALTHA), serves on the American Hospital Association’s President’s Council on Post-Acute Care and previously served on the Board of the Federation of American Hospitals. He also served for 10 years as the chair of the Louisville Metro Board of Health. William was a delegate to the 2008 White House Conference on Aging, and in 1981 was recipient of the Thomas J. Watson fellowship to conduct a study on health and aging policy in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. In addition to a law degree, he holds a master’s degree in policy from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, both from the University of Minnesota.

R. Halsey Wise

R. Halsey Wise is Chairman and Chief Executive of Lime Barrel Advisors, LLC, a private investment firm he founded in 2010. Halsey brings nearly 30 years of leadership, technology, and financial experience to the WellSky board of directors in addition to valuable experience having led several successful business transformation, growth, and value creation initiatives. He was previously chairman, chief executive officer, or president of three public companies including serving as chairman and chief executive officer of MedAssets Inc. (NASDAQ: MDAS), a leading healthcare technology performance improvement company. Prior to that, Halsey served as chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Intergraph Corporation (NASDAQ: INGR); chairman, chief executive officer, and president of the North American region for Solution 6 Holdings, Ltd.; general manager of the North American region for Global Services for CA, Inc.; and president and chief operating officer of Computer Management Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMSX). In addition to his membership on WellSky’s Board of Directors, Halsey serves on the board of directors at Cerner Corporation (NASDAQ: CERN) and AspenTech (NASDAQ: AZPN). He also served on boards of directors at publicly-held companies including Cotiviti Health Inc (NYSE: COTV), MedAssets, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDAS), Acxiom Corporation (NASDAQ: ACXM), and Intergraph Corporation (NASDAQ: INGR). He holds a Masters of Business Administration in finance and marketing from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Virginia.

A.G. Breitenstein

A.G. Breitenstein is an independent entrepreneur & investor who has founded and led multiple startups all aimed at building a better, more affordable, and equitable health care system. She was most recently a co-founder and partner at Optum Ventures. Prior to Optum Ventures, A.G. was a co-founder & chief product officer of Humedica, serving as chief product officer of Optum Analytics after Optum acquired Humedica in 2013. Prior to Humedica, A.G. was a director at Leerink Swann, a leading health care investment bank; co-founded the non-profit Institute for Health Metrics (IHM); served as co-chair of Governor Charlie Baker’s Digital Health Data Working Group; and served as chair of the Massachusetts Work Group on the Privacy of Medical Records. She began her career as an attorney and was the founding director of the Health Law Institute which focused on the health needs of GLBTQ youth working the streets of Boston. A.G. received her MPH from Harvard University, her JD from the University of Connecticut, and her bachelor’s degree from Yale University.

John G. Danhakl

John Danhakl is Managing Partner of Leonard Green & Partners, L.P. (“LGP”). LGP is a leading private equity investment firm based in Los Angeles with over $40 billion of committed capital raised since inception. The firm partners with experienced management teams and often with founders to invest in market-leading companies. John joined LGP in 1995. Previously, he was a managing director in the Los Angeles office of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (“DLJ”). Prior to DLJ, John was a vice president in corporate finance at Drexel Burnham Lambert, Inc. He presently serves on the Board of Directors of Advantage Solutions, Charter NEX, Genani Corp., Global Citizen, IQVIA Holdings Inc., Life Time Fitness, Inc., Mister Car Wash Holdings, Inc., MultiPlan, Inc., SRS Distribution, and WellSky. He is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Peter J. Zippelius

Pete Zippelius is a Partner of Leonard Green & Partners, L.P. (“LGP”) which he joined in 2018. Previously Pete was a Managing Director and Co-Head of North American Healthcare Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan, which he joined in 2015. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Pete was a Managing Director and Co-Head of Healthcare Services Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank Securities, and prior to that, he was a Managing Director in the Healthcare Investment Banking group at Morgan Stanley. He presently serves on the Board of Directors of Catalent, Press Ganey, WCG, and WellSky. Pete began his career in the Mergers and Acquisitions department of Salomon Smith Barney. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Tech.
