WellSky Spirit Week 2020: Strengthening Our Culture Together
As WellSky teammates continue to work remotely during the pandemic, we’re all finding new ways to connect to our shared culture, to each other, and to our communities. Recently, our teammates celebrated WellSky Spirit Week 2020, as one of our ongoing annual traditions. From November 18-24, WellSky teammates focused their attention and energy on supporting each other and vulnerable populations in our communities.
“The past eight months have been unlike any we’ve faced before, and yet, I continue to be amazed by the tireless commitment our teammates have shown in supporting WellSky’s clients day in and day out,” said Dana Streck, Senior Vice President of People & Talent for WellSky. “Spirit Week is an important way for our teammates to have fun, to take time to enjoy each other’s company, if only virtually for now, and to get into the giving spirit together. The week’s event further emphasized how impressive and inspiring each of our teammates are.”
Celebrations of all kinds look a little different this year, and WellSky stayed true to its culture by adjusting and innovating to succeed. Although this year’s Spirit Week looked different, our commitments to each other, our clients, and our communities remained the same.
Together, during Spirit Week 2020, WellSky teammates focused on:
Giving
- Together, in just one week, WellSky teammates raised a total of $300,000 for the WellSky Foundation.
- Teammates had the opportunity to vote and help us select the WellSky Foundation’s newest donation recipient, to be announced in December 2020.
- WellSky teammates across functions, departments, and locations participated in a “Face-Off” fundraising event to support the WellSky Foundation. In the friendly competition, contestants who raised more funds compared to their direct competitor teammate were saved from getting pied in the face and/or doused in ice water.
- Teammates also contributed to a 50/50 raffle to further support the WellSky Foundation’s long-term mission of addressing the social determinants of health (SDoH) for vulnerable populations.
Celebrating
- Teammates across WellSky celebrated each other by sharing messages of encouragement and appreciation throughout Spirit Week.
- Each WellSky teammate also got a gift box of their choosing from our official WellSky online store to help them show off their team spirit.
Investing in themselves
- Friday, Nov. 20 marked our first-ever “Meeting-Free Friday,” where WellSky teammates could take time to focus on individual projects and innovation.
- That Friday also included 4 additional hours of paid time off (PTO) for each teammate, to help WellSky teammates rest, recharge, and prioritize self-care activities ahead of the holiday season.
“Our WellSky teammates are going beyond simply staying connected. Through Spirit Week 2020, we’re proactively enhancing our culture to serve each other, our more than 15,000 clients, and people in the communities where we live and work,” said Bill Miller, CEO of WellSky. “I’m proud to see the many ways our teammates are supporting each other, throughout Spirit Week 2020 and beyond. This week’s events are a clear indicator of our ability to support both each other and our communities, no matter what challenges arise.”
