Imagining and building the future of healthcare technology
Healthcare is always evolving. With new delivery models, regulatory changes, and acquisitions constantly shifting the industry landscape, health and community care organizations must stay ahead of the curve in order to thrive.
We’re here to help. At WellSky, we are leading the industry in developing cutting-edge technology for health and community care providers so they can adapt to change while continuing to deliver top-quality care to the patients they serve.
Innovation plays a role in everything we do at WellSky. Each year, we set aside 3 days to take on the biggest challenges in healthcare. During our semi-annual Hackathon, WellSky engineers from across the globe form teams and spend time collaborating and developing new prototype technologies that have the potential to become fully realized WellSky solutions. It’s hard work—and a lot of fun.
This year, more than 60 teams worked on a variety of projects, including developing ways to help community workers find available shelters for the homeless during peak times of need; new scheduling software for personal care organizations; a health and morale checker to provide insights into team dynamics, processes, and operations; and technology to reduce operational pain points at healthcare agencies.
“My first Hackathon at WellSky was an opportunity to make a huge impact in 24 hours. Professionally, those 24 hours were an outstanding example of collaboration, teamwork, setting expectations, and finding a solution to one of the main pain points of our clients,” said Pooja Goel, a Hackathon participant. “Our team was the right mix of solutions managers creating specs, engineering rockstars brainstorming and creating architecture diagrams and building web and mobile solutions, quality assurance specialists making sure the test plans are in place, and the whole team validating the solution by running it through one of WellSky’s valued clients. On a personal level, it was an exciting opportunity to interact, have fun, and get to know the wonderful people I work with.”
At the end of Hackathon, the top 12 finalists presented their ideas, and WellSky teammates voted for three winners. Those winners, along with the winners from last August’s Dev Days event, will have the opportunity to share their solutions presentations with WellSky executives at Pitch Day in March. The winning project will receive funding for development.
“ ‘Be bold’ is our rallying cry at WellSky,” said Sunil Pereira, a Hackathon participant. “It’s amazing to see our research and development teammates around the world collaborating on daring, creative, and innovative ideas.”
