Take action on legislation affecting behavioral health: Show your support for HR 7427/ S 987
The Behavioral Health Information Technology Now (BHIT NOW) Act is a part of newly introduced legislation (HR7427 / S 987) that, if passed, will provide $250 million in funding for the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation to implement a demonstration program that will support behavioral health providers as they adopt certified Electronic Health Records and related technology that supports information sharing. This long overdue targeted funding for the behavioral health industry is essential to promote integrated whole-person care.
Technology enablement across all care settings is essential to delivering coordinated high-value care. In addition to improved outcomes, behavioral health providers must leverage technology to succeed with new payment models, adapt to changing care delivery models, support recruiting efforts, and retain current staff.
WellSky strongly supports this legislation and will be holding meetings with members of Congress to voice our support. We urge you to take action to make your voice heard. Contact your local representative and invite them to come onsite to see the work you are doing for your patient population and the communities you serve firsthand.
As your trusted partner for healthcare technology, we at WellSky believe that technology adoption and interoperable solutions lead to improved whole-person care. We stand with the behavioral health industry and fully support our clients and all behavioral health providers. We will continue to do everything we can to support this legislation.
