Pitch Day at WellSky: Empowering innovation among teammates
WellSky teammates are some of the most talented, forward-thinking people in the post-acute and community care technology space. We know our team has great ideas. That’s why we established WellSky Pitch Day — an annual event that gives our teammates an audience with leadership and a forum to share their ideas for new solutions that empower even better care.
At our inaugural Pitch Day event in 2019, WellSky teammates presented concepts for a range of impressive innovations, competing for the chance to bring their solution to fruition. Pitch Day’s winner is decided by votes from WellSky’s larger teammate base and a team of judges. Each year, teammates who win the friendly competition earn funding for their project, and the unique opportunity to make their vision a reality.
In 2019, our Pitch Day winner was Al Fiandaca, solutions manager on the company’s post-acute care facilities team. Al delivered a powerful proposal for a cross-market solution that helps care providers across healthcare and community care better manage and leverage their finite resources: WellSky Resource Manager. Today, organizations across the U.S., including Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in New York, can use WellSky Resource Manager to increase efficiency.
“It’s been an intense year building the business case and taking WellSky Resource Manager from idea to reality,” Al said. “Thanks to the commitment and hard work of the team that worked on WellSky Resource Manager, along with the support of WellSky leadership, we’ve developed a solution that crosses business units and is now available to clients. And all this happened in less than a year.”
Harnessing Resource Manager technology, providers gain data-driven, actionable insights to better allocate their resources — including equipment, appointments, staff, facility capacity, and more. Effective resource management is even more important for organizations caring for people amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
During our 2020 Pitch Day presentations on August 13, we heard from teammates across the company, as they presented proposals for new ways we can innovate to meet our clients’ needs. We look forward to announcing the 2020 winner in the near future. And we’re even more excited to deliver our clients even more solutions to help them meet new challenges, continue growing, and provide high-quality care for the people they serve.
We look forward to continuing WellSky’s tradition of ongoing innovation for years to come.
