Company completes rigorous review process to ensure that data is protected
Lenexa, KS, January 12, 2016 – Mediware Information Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of software for healthcare providers and human service organizations, successfully completed a Service Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type 1 Audit for its software and infrastructure. SOC 2 Type 1 compliance provides validation that Mediware’s processes, procedures and controls meet or exceed the stringent criteria established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
SOC is an internationally recognized auditing standard, the examination for which included meticulous testing of various controls, such as network connectivity, firewall configuration, secure software development life cycle, computer operations, database access, data transmissions, backup, disaster recovery and physical security. The successful completion of this arduous voluntary certification process affirms Mediware’s commitment to security, confidentiality, availability, privacy and processing integrity for all its healthcare customers.
“Our customers trust us to manage their data securely, so we are pleased to be among those who have achieved the SOC 2 certification because it demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that our operations and services offer system-wide reliability and security,” said Mediware’s Executive Vice President Rob Weber.
